W. Lee Kohler

W. Lee Kohler has been engaged in the practice of law for more than twenty years, the vast majority of that time spent in the practice of construction law.

Mr. Kohler graduated in 1983 from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Kohler received his Juris Doctor degree in 1986 from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center.

Mr. Kohler was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in October 1986 and admitted to practice law in Texas in May 1987. Mr. Kohler is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in both Louisiana and Texas, and in the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Kohler has represented clients in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Mr. Kohler’s past practice in construction law has included representation of design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and owners, with respect to a wide variety of disputes, including personal injury claims, construction defect claims, design defect claims, payment claims, and cost overrun and delay claims. Mr. Kohler has also counseled clients with respect to negotiating construction agreements and documents and claims avoidance.

In addition to an extensive practice in construction law, Mr. Kohler has also represented clients in general personal injury litigation, toxic torts litigation, and insurance litigation.

Mr. Kohler has also received training to act as an arbitrator and mediator and has acted as a mediator in a number of construction claims.
